How often does your boiler break down?

if this the first time your boiler has broken down? If so, a repair will be good enough to get your home back up and running. However, if your boiler seems to be broken more often than not then it may be time to consider getting a newer model. Your new boiler shouldn't be n need of a repair for years to come, so it will be the most cost-effective decision long term.

How much will a repair cost?

If you have a new boiler, a repair will be relatively cheap as spare parts will be easy to locate. However, if you have an older boiler, the cost of the repair may be considerably more. as spare parts become harder to find, the cost of repairs will increase- and they will only continue to increase in the future. You should get a quote for a boiler repair and consider whether it is worth this, or whether swapping to anew boiler is more sensible.

Is your boiler safe?

Boilers have the potential to be very dangerous, so it is important that you do all you can to ensure safety. In some cases, a boiler repair will not be enough to guarantee safety within your home. If your gas engineer tells you this is the case, it is for your safety that you upgrade to a new boiler. However, if your boiler is perfectly safe after a repair, this may be all the work that is necessary.
